Entrepreneurial intentions among business students: the mediating role of attitude and the moderating role of university support

Purpose This study aims to examine the potential determinants of entrepreneurial intentions (EIs) among business students. To that end, investigates role entrepreneurship education (EE) and passion (EP) (inventing founding), as well mediating attitude towards (ATE) moderating university support. Design/methodology/approach A close-ended questionnaire measured on a seven-point Likert scale was used collect data from students at nine universities in Punjab, Pakistan. The sample size comprises 377 participants who were selected using stratified random sampling technique. Partial least square structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) then applied assess study’s model postulated hypothesis. Findings findings indicated (a) every independent variable (IV) directly impacts EI [dependent (DV)] except EP for founding (EPF), (b) ATE significantly mediates relationship between IV DV (c) perceived support positively moderates EI. Originality/value As an implication policy, Government must ensure are exposed environments find through different paths. Specifically, Pakistan’s Minister Education Higher Commission (HEC) may consider designing programs lead more influential EE. empirical help policymakers develop effective policies promoting entrepreneurship.
